Boys and their toys

 We wondered how to spend this afternoon and decided on a quiet stroll round Delapre Abbey in Northampton.  As we arrived we noticed a sign for the Steam Trains. We strolled down to where the miniature trains were being fired up.  What a wonderful surprise for us.  The members of Northampton Society  of Model Engineers were so friendly and enthusiastic about their engines and would be giving rides at 50p a time about an hour later.  There was just enough time to walk the length of the tracks and have a cup of tea and home made cake. 
The engines were running on 7 1/4", 5" and 3 1/2" gauge.  More information here
