Uncomfortable close-up

We went for a walk around Great Barrow this morning as the weather was much nicer than it has been for the last few days.

I was taking landscape shots when this fly landed on the gate next to me.  It was fascinating watching it cleaning its wings with its back leg by leaning forward and balancing on its head.

No matter how fascinated I am by insects, any close-up shot of one always makes me feel uncomfortable. Half of me thinks they are incredibly complex, fascinating creatures, but the other half thinks they are just plain scary.
