Colonial China

Back to Shanghai....this is a beautiful building along the river front that was built by the British in the early part of the last century. My chinese teacher said that for her it was like being in another world (she has never travelled out of China). She's right - it was strange to have this European feel as we were walking along the Bund. The buildings are magnificant yet today they are towered by so many skyscrapers -it is an interesting juxtaposition.
