Buried in Sand

This Catholic Cemetery contains graves from the late 1800's when people were trying to settle this land. It was a desolate canyon - though beautiful - and it was incredible that people were so determined to eke out an existence there.

The headstones were nearly the same color as the sand and rocks around them, so much so they were almost easy to miss; there was no grand tomb to mark their final resting place.
