It is her 92nd birthday today but instead of spending it with her husband she is attached to a nebuliser and drips while he sits confused in his new room unaware that they will never again be together in their own home.  After being given very little hope a couple of weeks ago she has managed to confound the medics and is still holding on, but happy in the knowledge that she has seen her four children and nine grandchildren who have travelled many miles to visit her over the last few days.
