Three Queens in a Line
As part of P&O's 175th Anniversary celebrations the three flagship liners,Queen Victoria,Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth sailed from Southampton together this evening in convoy along the Solent.
In decidedly murky weather I managed to photograph all three ships together as they exited Southampton Water to navigate the sharp turn around Bramble Bank. A large crowd of spectators lined East Cowes Esplanade to watch the three liners pass by.
As it was a monochromatic evening I converted the shot to black and white. The Isle of White ferry can also be seen dwarfed by the huge liners. It's passengers must have had a grandstand view of the spectacle.
Best viewed in Large I think.
