Jazz at Burns Court Cafe
It was great fun to go to Burns Court Cafe in Sarasota tonight with Decklin & Tina. "A real Parisian café and bakery in the heart of Sarasota’s Historic Burns Court district." We ate delicious food and listened to Bill Buchman play Jazz tunes on his keyboard! Bill is my instructor for mixed media art and a very talented artist and musician. He has a blues band (The Art of Blues) and a Jazz duo/trio (the Art of Jazz). Both bands have been performing a lot this season. I have seen him play live twice now and also bought his new CD, just released. He is an exceptionally good musician! You can have a listen here, this song, Poinciana, was recorded at the Burns Court Cafe earlier this year.
I grew up listening to Jazz as my parents had many albums and played them often, especially when entertaining. So hearing Jazz is like coming home for me. Decklin & Tina enjoyed and the food was really good. Tina especially liked the atmosphere -said it was like a European cafe! The Torte we had for dessert was quite amazing (mmm!) and the Tapas and Boeuf Bourguignon - yum! It was great to spend time with them doing something special.
I just talked to Steven and he had a great day sailing, meeting up with people and then a big community dinner. But he already has the boat packed up and on the trailer! He'll be home early tomorrow afternoon. Steve said he got lots of great photos of all the boats . . . I wonder if he will return to blip with a photo from the day? Maybe?! :0)
