Sports Day

Sports day was rained off yesterday but managed to go ahead today:-)

Es & Buncle were in the morning and the Rooster in the afternoon. Looks like Buncle is about to land on his nose here but thankfully he didn't. Buncle & Es aren't big sports day fans but they do give it what they've got and enjoy it to a certain extent. Rooster loves sports day...he can run and has a very competitive nature...both those characteristics spurred him on to a gold medal yesterday.

Es's last sports day at primary school. She captained one of the infant teams in the afternoon. When she led them out on to the field I did have to alert her that they were not in fact following her and heading off in the other direction:-). It was funny...she quickly ran off and shepherded them back.

All the kids in the school walk or run a mile every day. They've worked out that it's 5 times round the sports field. The teachers fit it into the classroom schedule when it's required. So if the class is flagging a bit they get them up & out for a bit of exercise to wake them up again and they come back refreshed and ready to focus again on their work. It's a great initiative.
