Dino.

So today C1 and I went to the Zoo. The animated Dinosaurs were a treat. None of them were genuinely meant to deceive or scare, but it was noticeable that those below waist height took quite a lot of convincing, that they were safe. It took me a while to realise that the six year old who was genuinely screaming in terror and wanted to be put down so he could run away did not think they were alive. He just thought they were dangerous. Like a driverless car, or a shaking bridge.

The Sumatran tiger showed himself to eat a treat and then went back to his bed. The pelicans shivered in the cold wind. The zebras grazed and the wallabies hopped their way across their nettle strewn paddock. The Hyraxes imitated rocks. The nesting penguins stole each other pebbles. But the animal I felt most sorry for was in the cage labelled 'Eurasian eagle owl', a crow had found his way in, and was on the verge of panic being unable to find his way out. The owl himself was mysteriously absent.
