Ivy-leaved toadflax

I had a wonderful Friday afternoon off just meandering down the glorious country lanes of West Sussex.
Eventually (after driving around this way and that) I ended up at Kirdford Church, and this common little plant Ivy-leaved Toadflax Cymbalaria muralis  was growing on an old grave in an urn just spilling over the edges in a tumble of beautiful little purple flowers.
It has an unusual method of propagation. The flower stalks when first formed are positively phototropic and move towards the light...once fertilised they become negatively phototropic and move away from light into dark cracks and crevices where the seeds remain to germinate.
Native to south and southwest Europe it has spread throughout the world as an invasive plant, but even so it is very pretty!
