Making Strides

On a rather overcast morning we travelled to Sheffield to practice our sprint orienteering skills.

The first race was a prologue which then sorted competitors into order for a chasing start final. The course was tricky with the controller taking delight in watching the antics at one control as we tried to work out where it was placed.

This is the chasing start with the leader in the Women's course waiting whilst one of the men was stretching for his map. It can get very busy with competitors starting within seconds of one another.

After my back strain I was pleased to be back running but disappointing to miss 2 controls in the final. Let's hope I improve for the British Championship next week!
