A Perfect Red Flower

"For man, as for flower and beast and bird, the supreme triumph is to be most vividly, most perfectly alive"

From Apocalypse, published in 1930 by D.H. Lawrence (1885-1930)

This perfect camellia was an unexpected delight in the garden at Mum's - looking out of the window for photographic inspiration, I caught a flash of its lovely red petals hiding in the shade of a fir tree and went outside to investigate.  It was the only bloom to be found on the whole plant.
