Fifth International Festival of Town Pipers

I was into Colchester Town nice and early today, as I had an urgent appointment to buy a birthday present for tomorrow (it always concentrates the mind when time is short).

Having successfully negotiated practically every shop in town and finally purchased said present, I cut through Colchester's First Site and stumbled upon what looked like a mass meeting of medieval musicians! It turns out to be the Fifth International Festival of Town Pipers which is taking place this weekend.

The instruments they were playing sounded centuries old and they looked rather unusual too. Great to listen to for the ten or so minutes I had before my train left. It's a pity I only had my phone camera with me, but it did a reasonable job.
