May Day

Its been an emotional day.

I've been remembering a friend that passed away a while ago.  I've been remembering her as we went singing together on the 1st May at dawn to welcome in the day.  I did think about doing that today but decided that I needed the sleep more.

Mrs Blackbird is no longer on a nest.

We've been hearing the squirrel(s) in the loft this week so I went up today to have a look.  I found Mrs Squirrel dead and two little squirrels.  I know that they are vermin but I still cried. She has now been disposed of.  The squirrel trap has been baited with peanuts and we are hoping that we can trap her children and release them.  

Now I am very proud of the photo.  It is a Erysimum 'Constant Cheer' (wallflower) and it is a cutting that I took from this one.
