It was a public holiday here today, so we took it easy most of the day. Took a drive in the afternoon to the next town to get an ice cream (they have very nice ice cream). It is actually against M's principles to buy anything on this day, worker's day, since she thinks all workers should rest and shops should be closed. 

Unfortunately she had forgotten about this until we were in the shop, and then I tried to justify it by telling her that the young girls working there looked very happy and that maybe they were getting double pay for the day! (I really hope this is true). This knitting decoration is on the outside wall of a craft shop next to the ice cream shop.
