I had a day of concentrated and at times frantic activity, dealing with a very troublesome student and also checking carefully on the work of an alleged prodigy - albeit all from the comfort of my own dining table. I went out, blinking in the daylight, to the letter box and for a few items at the local shop, which allowed me to catch a sight of Mrs Swan well settled down on her nest. She's in the customary corner beneath the traffic lights -they've done a grand job of clearing up the rubbish, or else have completely built over it. Mr Swan is doing a lot of guarding and posing, in between bouts of chasing the troublesome YST off to beyond the swing bridge.
