Windermere from above Troutbeck

Day 7 of the Westmoreland Way, walking from Ambleside to Windermere (Village). The best weather so far; no showers and we took our coats off for a while - the first time! Highlights were the views from Jenkin Crag and Orrest Head.

We're staying for a second night in Ambleside, so we took a Windermere "steamer" back to Ambleside. Tomorrow a taxi will take us to the start of the next section of the walk. It is more satisfactory to do the whole way without transport assistance, but I did enjoy the boat ride. And since neither Windermere Village nor Ambleside is right on Lake Windermere, it had the advantage of extending a short day by a couple of miles.
