It's Grim Up North

Is it possible to be inspired by a water mill?

Yes.

Finally, after 30 years or so, I got round to visiting the local Heron Corn Mill. I've blipped the river next to it, before.

It turns out to be a photographer's playground of textures, shapes and helpful people who love the mill and don't care where you put your tripod.

No photographs of the details, nooks and crannies yet as this was my first visit to get a feel for the place.  So this is Ian, one of the millers, starting the mill up again so that I could see it whirr round and do what mills do. He also showed me his vacuum cleaner.

If I'd had the nerve I would of got a photo of our Steve, singing plumber and Paulo, his chihuahua, but I didn't have the nerve to ask.
