Buttercups and daisies

This was the view when I opened my bedroom curtains this morning. Blue skies and the village green full of buttercups and daisies...well maybe more dandelions than buttercups! I was reminded that May day was approaching because our village May Queen used to have yellow sashes to match the yellow flowers.

After almost 40 years, the last May Queen festival held on the green was in 2007, when my daughter was May Queen. It was a really lovely community day with all sorts of stalls and games for the children. Hard work but well worth it!
