The House Martin has Landed

Typically the day I can't be bothered carting my big old wildlife lens around is the day I see soooooooo much.

I am imagining, and trying not to weep openly, how lovely close and detailed this shot would have been with the 400mm.

The martins spent 99% of time in the air and the other 1% popping down to this dirty puddle for a drink. Thirsty work.
