Meet Yumi, she and a friend were in charge of the Japanese night at the International English Club tonight, what was great fun. She recently visited Scotland, and loved it (well, of course she did!), so here she is with some of the origami she was teaching us to make and her Irn Bru. The essentials of life.
I have been carefully following the aftermath of the Nepal earthquake. A hopsital near Kathmandu that we worked closely with in my previous job, Anandaban has been badly affected, with 5 buildings damaged, some entirely collapsed, and the whole hospital in tents in the grounds. Obviously they have far more patients now than they did before the earthquake, and are running their operating theatre pretty much constantly with help from the surgeons at another hospital, sending medical teams into the rural areas to the south and expanding their regular clinic in Kathmandu from a leprosy clinic to a First Aid station working every day. As you will understand, their usual budget will not cover all of this, so if you are able, please consider giving to help them provide the care so urgently needed. You can find out more and give by clicking here. Thank you!
