Camping in George Square

I was in Glasgow today and I took a detour to George Square, where I came upon this sight.  There was the tent as you can see, with a sleeping bag, a bucket with clothes pegs, and other bits and pieces.  What you can't see is the washing line behind me strung up between two trees with clothes hanging on it.  Two guys came along, possibly council officials, and took down the washing line and I asked them if this has happened before, once or twice apparently.  It would appear that someone with no permanent place to live decided to set up camp in the main square in Glasgow, there are also beggars on all the main streets.  The economic recovery has not reached everyone.
