Dryas octopetala
Today's the day ......................... for a repeat performance
I know I show you this every year!
I just can't help it because I am always so pleased to see that it has survived the winter - and so thrilled that it's in my garden. Of course, the Mountain Avens (or Dryas octopetala to give it its proper name) does like a bit of limestone in its soil - and there's plenty of that around here.
And then when the delicate, eight-petalled flowers have finished, there will all those crazy, bad-hair-day, seed pods to delight us still further. I'll probably have to blip those again too ........................
