House Sparrow

In the hawthorn tree in my garden.

On the lawn below were three feathers and a leg belonging to a female blackbird. I'm afraid that it's likely to be one of the pair nesting in my hedge, I don't know if there are chicks - if so I hope that the male can feed them. I'm assuming that she was taken by a sparrowhawk, at least that's nature unlike one of the many well fed neighbourhood cats catching it.
