Border Controls

In the office for most of the day. Bumped into Simon - a former colleague from Alzheimer's Society in town at lunchtime and had a coffee and catch-up. Also had the chance to test the high-tech parking function on my courtesy car. It finds a parking space and automatically reverses and steers the car into it with millimetres to spare.

This was the scene on the M62 at Scammonden Reservoir at 6:30 pm as the police introduced border controls to prevent us Tykes from venturing over to the Dark Side.

On a serious note there had been an accident involving two brand new trucks. The trucks collided and crossed the central reservation. The result was absolute chaos with tailbacks of 15 miles and all alternative routes gridlocked. I do hope that the injured driver makes a full recovery.

It took me two hours to get home - a journey that would take 20 minutes in good conditions.
