Emergency

There have been a lot of emergencies, but I don't think this old phone will help. Located on the grounds of the old Kingston Psychiatric Hospital, this phone was used when patients wandered away and staff needed assistance. I took a pensive walk along those grounds today, thinking of all the emergencies my friends are facing: severe financial difficulties, a wedding postponed because of discovered infidelities, a mom dying slowly from cancer, a dad diagnosed too young and too late, when treatment is no longer an option. Life isn't fair. Life just is. If only it was as simple as an emergency call on an old rusty phone.
