Ritual

We had a bit of fun with a prop in the Institute today. Stephanie was giving her work in progress seminar and she brought along a prop, which is a replica Bronze Age weapon, which she actually made herself. So here she is, afterwards, suggesting some sort of ritual sacrifice of her long suffering partner (well, he was a lawyer before he became an archaeologist, so maybe it's deserved...). 

It would be a bit longwinded to explain that Stephanie's explanation for finding hoards of bronze age weapons is that these are **not** about rituals rather about - quite probably - something else entirely (maybe just hoarding for hoardings sake, as we see in times of shortage...). So I won't bother. Anyway, it was all a bit of fun. And luckily the Safety Elves were not in evidence.

Later on, I went to a reception to talk about diasporas, and caught up with a colleague in that School who could answer a few questions I had.
