Drax Cooling Towers

We went on a trip with our U3A today to visit Drax Power Station. The tour of the power station was much more interesting than I had thought it would be. It is the largest and most efficient coal powered power station in the UK and it is gradually moving over to using biomass. There are 6 generators. Currently 2 of them are powered by biomass but a third is due to come on line this year.
