A great surprise

It is raining here but the sky cleared for a while so I got the dog and my camera and we set off on our daily walk route.  My plan was to get some photos of the "ditch" flowers..wildflowers that grow along our road.  I walked all the way to the "nature trail" that is in the little subdivision down the road thinking to find some mushrooms since it was so warm and moist.  When I bent down to get a different angle on the only mushroom I saw, I was greeted with a great surprise.   Hello, Snail!  
I was exasperated as I had the 50mm prime lens on the camera and could not get close enough, darn it!  

Always look both ways, over, under, up and down...surprises are waiting for you.
