Callistemon
They are commonly known as the Bottle Brush, Native to Australia, we have a few of these shrubs in our garden, they are quite resilient and very hard to kill, they withstand the harsh Summer sun and the coastal conditions where we live.
I read somewhere that they are also grown in the kew Gardens in the UK, taken from Australia by Joseph Banks the botanist who sailed these seas with Captain Cook in the early 1800's.
