Brittania Theatre Model

Made by  Horatio Blood.   This hand coloured model represents the kind of toy theatre which could be bought for use as home entertainment from the 1820's onwards.   Above the theatre is print by William Hogarth.   This was in fact Hogarth' house in Chiswick where we were today and fortunately had time to visit.  It is one of the few artists' houses open to visitors in the London area.   It became a museum in 1904 and entry was free!
