Help us to make your journey easier
I found this on my way back home from Dublin, where I stayed a few
days with my friend.
Regardless of its attracting phrase beginning with help, it's hard to think that all the recipients benefit from what this text is requesting, since they can choose not to use the autowalk if it stops working.
I hadn't known that the verb, help, could be used intentionally in public notices. Since coming to the UK, I've found quite a lot of notices containing help us to..., an expression which may mitigate the directness and allow the producer to create a positive public image of themselves.
