A bit of weeding

A very busy day for me at work - I must have taken at least 30 phone calls (it was like being back in reception at the NHS!) with pensioners querying their tax code, pensions increase amount, and discussing the unfairness of having to pay tax when you pay tax all your life/you are age 84/only get a small pension...and so on. So in all, questions I was able to answer. I think my colleagues were quite impressed with the 'new girl' today!

At lunch time I walked down to the river and ate my lunch. I sat hoping the weather would stay warm into the evening.

The afternoon was just as busy and I didn't leave the office until 5. I got home around 6 so not too bad. Then Henry and I made spicy chicken goujons with the chicken breasts I'd actually remembered to take out of the freezer! We threw random spices and herbs into some flour and stuck it all on the chicken by dipping into egg and then the floury mixture (I didn't have any of those orange breadcrumbs - but it worked with my version)

By the time we had faffed about with dinner and I then washed up, it was 7.30. I was desperate to get out and do a bit of weeding.

My new most hated weed is ground elder. The ONLY good thing about it is it doesn't sting. I have a sea of it, and started to try and clear a small area. I know full well I will never eradicate it - but I'm going to have a jolly good try!
