Whit's fur ye'll no go past ye....
It's a miracle I managed any picture at all today. As it is, I am writing this at 6:20pm looking out at beautiful early evening sunshine knowing that the picture that ends up here could well be a blizzard!
It's been that kind of changeable day with all 4 seasons in every hour. I sent mom out to send a postcard for me as I know I'd end up carrying it around in my bag all week and then end up sending it from Solihull on Monday! I did that with cards I'd got in Edinburgh in March.
Mom blew back in the door looking like she'd been dragged through a hedge just as the heavens opened.
Work was fine today and much easier than expected. I was expecting half a million help desk calls as today was the first day of Java 7 but it was unbelievably quiet.
I have just seen David Cameron on a party political broadcast. Seeing him has just reminded me that I may not survive until the end of the week! I put a car sticker I received in the post for the SNP on dad's office/golf gear room window downstairs and if dad doesn't come back to haunt me, mom will certainly murder me!
Despite being a proud Edinburgh Scot, his army days had made dad a royalist and a Maggie Thatcher fan. I can almost see him looking down his nose at me from his scatter tube on the mantlepiece. I'll have a go at peeling it off later when I get back from my trip through the blizzards if I remember....
On the subject of blipping, I have decided to take every day as it comes. I have been spilling my guts on here for a while now and I have found it a chore lately. My heart and mind has been somewhere else and the future is uncertain - is it ever certain? - with me needing to focus on a few important things. If things are meant to be, they are meant to be or as they say up here in Scotland, whit's fur ye'll no go past ye....
I'll just have to wait and see but take no notice if I'm not here for a while one day. Like Arnie, I'll be back!
Track? Now for something completely different. I have listened to two different versions of this song today. I actually prefer the softer folk version from Dougie MacLean but the beautiful video which accompanies this rockier version from Frankie Miller makes it win overall. I hope you like it - Caledonia
