Country House #3

This holiday has been a glorious succession of wonderful places to stay in the English countryside and today was no different. Our friends Sarah and Andrew bought a dilapidated farmhouse just 14 months ago and have turned it into something truly lovely. This is the view of their garden and paddocks from our bedroom. They would say that the garden has a long way to go yet, but they are blessed with some beautiful mature trees and what will be an exquisite border.
The icing on the cake is the field full of sheep grazing out back complete with 4 male pheasant desperate to get their harems sorted out. It's like a cinematic, King Lear version of The Famous Grouse advert - birds running around, fighting, strutting, getting depressed, puffed up and flirtatious. Eastenders with feathers. But better.
