The Philosopher

The statue of Hume on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh celebrates one of Scotland's great philosophers and prior to taking this photo I was doing a bit of philosophising myself about the councils desire to plonk traffic cones, roadworks and all manner of distractions throughout our beautiful city that get in the way of nice photos. Can we please have one weekend when photographers can come into the city that is free of roadworks and free of parked cars - imagine the number of snappers that would come to the city if they knew they could get unfettered views (except for other photographers) of the great landmarks!
