Friendly Friday
Felt much better this morning after a decent night's sleep. Moaning Minnie has gone (for the moment) and normal cheery service has been resumed.
I had high hopes for my productivity levels today though - I intended to clean my office and sort some paperwork. Managed about an hour and then got dragged into some staff issues at work via email (work stress levels rising dangerously again...oh no!)
Welcome diversion was a visit from my lovely friend Laura and her newborn Sam.
Laura gave birth almost 2 months ago and is a wonderful mother already. We had afternoon tea, cupcakes and a lovely chat about 'life on the other side of the labour ward'. She alway has fantastic insights to share!
Afternoon nap followed by another friend's visit when Jude popped over. Walked down Beech Rd and sat in the partial sunshine at the pub and caught up on our respective lives over wine (for her) and orange soda (for me).
Came home to find my husband cleaning the car ready for its send off tomorrow and then had a visit from his friend Kim who was looking for some advice on getting married in Italy.
Suffice to say, I never made it back in to tidy my office....one for next week's list!
Today's blip picture is of a dry cleaners located on the main road between Chorlton and Didsbury. I always think it looks as though it should be Brooklyn or Harlem rather than South Manchester. Took the pic in sepia to add to the retro feel. It was all about the photo but I have since realised (from looking at the sign) that they do an ironing collection service. Could come in handy!
