Camassia cusickii
It has been very windy today and it was hard to find a plant that wasn't waving in the breeze. This is a cama which is native to the NW and once covered many acres of prairie. Today it is cultivated and this is a cultivar, . It grows to about 2 feet in height and is very pretty although it does not last very long. American Indians used the roots as food and it was also used on the Lewis and Clark expedition in a similar way.
Many thanks for all the stars and comments on yesterday's blip. All much appreciated
