La Fiesta de San Marcos

Sun and cloud, with a windy start.

It is the Fiesta weekend of San Marcus.   

There is a circus which has been open from Thursday, a Bullfight last night, today the Procession and Horse Show.

We went to watch the Procession, all the men, women and children riding their horses all dressed up in traditional costume.   Horse drawn carriages, Floats decorated with music blaring and of course beer and tinto de verano flowing!   A wonderful sight.

A great shame that the wind increased quite a lot and everyone was holding onto their hats.   It did not dampen the spirits.   Bar tents opened up on every available space, parking anywhere, thousands of people milling about.   A great day.

The horses went first, then the cleaning wagons, cleaning up the manure before the dignitaries and floats proceeded.   All very organised!
