Kuha Karuhas Royal Pavilion

Khao Sam Roi Yot is a wonderful maritime park south of Hua Hin on the Gulf of Thailand. As the rock formation are made of limestone, there are many caves in the area. Phraya Nakhon cave is a magnificent cave accidentally discovered 200 years ago. To reach the cave, you must take a boat, then walk a steep hill for about 45 minutes before reaching the first chamber. In the second chamber, there is a Royal Pavilion named Kuha Karuhas. The building was ordered by King Rama V, who came here on a visit. It was first made in Bangkok, dismantled and reinstalled inside the cave piece by piece by gifted craftsmen. Three Kings have come to this cave. King Rama IX (the current sovereign) came here twice.
This has become an iconic place and quite a favorite to photographers because of the changing light during the day.
