Walking Football

Today was the last day of the Vanarama  Conference season and Chester FC finished the campaign with a 5-3 victory against Nuneaton Town who were already relegated  from the league. The day had a community feel about it. At the end of the game the players did a lap of honour , some with their young children on their shoulders. Wheelchair supporters were at the side of the pitch at the end of the game and players shook hands with them and posed for photographs. In fact players were happy to pose  for photos with all supporters  and stayed long after the final whistle to do so. At half time there was a walking football match featuring  former players and club officials. Tonight' s blip features club historian and fellow blipper Kwchas ( purple shirt) going close with a header.

Being part of a fan owned club is long way from the excesses of the Premier League and all the better for it.
