Homicidal halogen

I'm pretty sure halogen light bulbs are not supposed to blow up like this and attempt to brain you with a thick glass lens... luckily this one was behind another glass cover when it decided to explode.

Also, while changing the light bulb (after making sure the cats were not scared, well, they barely stirred...) I discovered that there's about an inch of plasterboard between us and the loft, so if ever anyone walks there and steps off the beam, I should get an interesting blip of legs dangling from my bathroom ceiling.
