Le Touquet
Today we ventured to Montreuil, the setting for part of Victor Hugo's Les Misérables. Montreuil is a superb medieval walled & fortified town. Then on to Le Touquet. In 1903, an Englishman bought the land & sold properties to the rich from across the English Channel. In the 1920s, Noël Coward and the “smart set” from England spent weekends here. P.G. Wodehouse lived here from 1934 to 1939. And today's blip is of the superb land yatchs on the beach at Le Touquet.
