My Long Term Memory

Hiding

Today we went to family cottage for spring chores. Male of the family had their chainsaws with, women rakes. The cottage is in small island close mainland, only short rowing boat trip away. It is on woods, so there is lots of cleaning after winter on shore and paths. Also firewood used in  wintertime is best timber i this time of year, so the wood dries due summer.

As usual, we had picnic lunch and grill sausages, coffee with cinnamon rolls and oat biscuits for couple decent pauses. While others worked hard doing physical work, me and my 11 year nephew were in twick patrol and took care of grilling. We also had deep conversations about black holes in the space, ice hockey and traveling. Time went fast and I think everyone enjoyed the day very much.

Soon after work started we found this sweet bird and the nest on fallen tree. It was quiet in it's nest and was almost run over. Luckily My Darling noticed it before any harm was done. It was looking straight to his eyes with those button eyes without making any moves even he was already really close the nest at the moment. We left it be alone and went do the work in other side of forest.
I think its starling, but I'm not sure. It had yellow beak and black feathers with white spots on back.
I took this from distant with my 300mm.
