Cross-cut

Still plenty evidence of fallen timber due to the hurricane. The estate are gradually working through it. This timber lying alongside the back road caught my attention. I tried counting the annual rings and I reckon that it started growing around the start of the 20th century, possibly near the end of the 19th century. I wonder what this landscape looked like at that time?
