Squirrel Blip Friday .....
loooooong day edition!
Today was the annual golf outing that is the major fund raiser for the Lehigh Valley Amputee Support Group. R and I have been the "official" photographers for the past three years. So we were up bright and early this morning to be at the golf course by 7:00 am!
Not the best day for a golf tournament as it was freezing cold and extremely windy! The temperature never reached above 55° F but the RealFeel® was more like 29° F! Brrrr! We were all freezing our arses off!
There were 216 golfers all together ...... mostly grouped into foursomes. I was responsible for taking photos of the majority of the groups that came through. Although, there was also another gentleman taking pictures at another location on the course.
After taking about 10-15 groups of pictures we swapped out the SD card so that R could start processing and printing out the pictures. One of the nice things about this outing (although it creates a lot of work for me and R) is the fact that each golfer will get his or her own picture. This means that R has to print up to 4 prints per group. Thankfully, he has someone helping him put the prints in the cardboard frames! He came down a few times to swap out the SD card and relieve me for a quick much needed (too much coffee!) break!
After all the golfers have made it through the course (I think they play multiple courses) there is a lunch that is provided by a local steakhouse and awards are given out. Then the raffles begin. We did not stay for that as it had already been a long day and this was only half of our day. The extra photo I have added (great new blipfoto feature!) is a panorama of the golf course. Don't let the sunshine fool you ..... it was COLD!
We got home around 3:00 pm and after a quick nap and warm up (with a heating pad!), I set up my camera for my Squirrel Blip Friday shot.
As I mentioned above the golf outing was only half our day. We had tickets for a play tonight so after supper we got ready for that. We saw How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying at one of our local colleges. We are subscribing members to their theater and attend 4 to 5 plays throughout the school year. Tonight's play was the final one for the season. The actors are amazing, but we felt the play was a bit too long! We didn't get home until after 11:00 pm! Made for a very loooooong day!
