Fred & Andy

Petronas Towers

The night bus was actually pretty good with nice reclining seats and we both managed to get some sleep but not enough before being kicked off in Kuala Lumpur at about 5.30am.  We sit for a bit then decide to find our guest house. Its walking distance and after asking directions a few times and being sent the wrong way initially we get there at around 6.30am. The guy on reception says we can have a room now but without attached bathroom which is what we booked so we take it and get some sleep.

After waking, we spend the day doing a few chores locally including going to the post office to see about sending the laptop home and buying a new lead for the camera as the old one seems to have got lost somewhere.  We also find an internet cafe and spend about three hours in there doing Blip but also researching Colombo as we fly tomorrow. It is really difficult to decide which area to stay in as there seems to be mixed reviews and no real central area. After three hours we've had enough and take a punt at a city centre
(ish?) bedsit/apartment rather than a hotel. Lots of people seem to stay out of town in a area called Lavinia Beach but we decided against it.  It looks like its going to be expensive for accommodation in Sri Lanka and this seems like the best option. We head out to dinner at a local curry place although Fred's stomach is still not right and she's struggling to eat much.  We then hop onto the metro to have a look at the famous Petronus Towers which are amazing!  We spend a couple of hours there then head back to our guest house.

Sri Lanka tomorrow.
