ANZAC........

....For the Women and Children.

I was brought up with my Grandmother telling me stories of the war and how hard it was for the women and children not only dodging bombs but loosing neighbours and friends...but worst of all the women who lost their Husbands and Sons ...the heartache and loss.....(I was only a small child but I remember to this day some of her stories..... 'From the bomb shelter').

I have been working on this image over the past week or so and many feelings have been rumbling about in me whilst doing it.....what for? what was the feeling to put these elements together...I have my story but I will leave the viewer to his/hers.
It came to me today when I woke up to the sound of Helicopters overhead at dawn...this is for those unsung heroes ...the women who kept it all together and kept on going through tears and anguish so that the men that did return had homes to come back to.
