The Kent

I had a meeting in Kendal, this morning, so I took advantage of the weather and walked into town (making sure I had my Fitbit on. You know a Fitbit addict when they walk any distance and then look close to tears if they find they aren't wearing their bracelet).

This is the view upriver from the "new" - i.e. Romney Road - Bridge, and that large white building on the right is the rebuilt K Village, once regularly visited by thousands of coach parties seeking cheap shoes and now Kendal's white elephant. Knobbled by a combination of building issues, trading restrictions and SLDC's insistence on charging for parking, the beast never got off its knees.

However, the parking prices have been lowered now, there's a cost for sorting out the building issues and moves are afoot to lift the restrictions on its use, so maybe this elephant will transform into a phoenix.
