HeHeHe .... no joke!

Clematis macropetala HeHeHe 099.  Raised from seed sown early last year, the seed coming from Gothenburg Botanic Garden having been collected on their plant hunting expedition to northern Russia.  HeHeHe 099 is the original collection number from the expedition.  HeHeHe because there were three Henriks on the trip :-) the leader being Henrik Zetterlund, curator at GBG.

Happily I have a number of small seedlings, several of which are making a flower. By next year I'll have one planted out and hope for a profusion of flowers ..... wonder who will get the spares?

For the record, Gothenburg has one of the leading botanic gardens in the world and it is well worth a visit ..... if you live near Stansted it can be done as a day trip*.  AND entry to the gardens is free, (donations are accepted.)

*If you are tempted, as I am, wait until the work at Gothenburg City Airport is finished.  Currently you have to fly into Landwatter which is not so close to the gardens.

PS I have removed the greenfly and sprayed the plants with insecticide.
